Here’s a quick explanation of how a solar system is installed. Al and Sue Lake joined the co-op last year and chronicled the process from start to finish.
Evaluation
Al and Billy Sorenson, from RS Energy, went up on the roof to evaluate the orientation and quality of the roof, the percentage of ‘viability’ of the roof and how the solar panels would perform during the seasons. Our ‘score’ was 87% because of a neighbor’s large trees on the east casting shade on the roof in the early morning hours.
